Our Commitment To Patient Safety
Update 5.29.2020
As of June 1st, all offices are open for regular office hours. In addition and as always, one of our doctors will remain on call 24/7 to address any emergencies and be available for patients both in the local hospitals as well as our offices.
Although we have opened up again after the COVID-19 pandemic required we limit our hours, our commitment to the health, safety and well-being of our patients and staff remain our top priority. We will continue to operate with the precautions put into place as advised by the CDC, NYSDOH and local healthcare recommendations.
What Sims & Associates Podiatry is Doing to Help Minimize Exposure and Keep You Safe:
Prescreening: We have implemented screening measures at each of our offices for staff to ensure that anyone showing signs or have the potential risk for contacting COVID-19 is asked not to return to work until it is safe for them to do so.
Staggering patient appointments: We are staggering patient appointments to allow for more time and physical space in between. Instead of waiting in our waiting room, we are asking patients to wait in their cars until their private, exam room is sanitized and ready for them to be roomed immediately. If a patient must remain in our waiting room we have staggered seating so everyone remains a safe distance from one another.
Social distancing & unnecessary physical contact: We are advising our patients and staff to maintain proper distance of 6 feet or more from one another and refrain from unnecessary physical contact where applicable and able. (We apologize in advance that we will not be shaking your hands.)
Frequent sanitizing of our offices: We are committed to ensuring our offices follow proper protocol for sanitizing and disinfecting regularly throughout the day all areas including, treatment tables, equipment, waiting rooms, doors, general areas and frequently touched surfaces.
Preventative measures: We have mandated our staff to practice preventative measures as outlined by the CDC such as, frequent washing of hands with soap and water, using approved hand sanitizer, wearing a mask or face covering over their nose and mouth, covering their nose and mouth for coughs/sneezes with tissues or if not available the crook of their elbows to help minimize exposure and spread of illness.
