About: A native of the Hudson Valley, Dr. Lewis J. Sims is the founder of Sims & Associates Podiatry. Upon completion of his podiatric surgical residency, Dr. Sims returned to the Hudson Valley to practice podiatry in Poughkeepsie, NY. Since its inception, Sims & Associates Podiatry and Dr. Sims have continued to grow. He has enjoyed a distinguished career as a podiatrist right here in the Hudson Valley for over 45 years and continues to serve as mentor and strategic advisor to the practice.

Dr. Lewis J. Sims is a fellow of The American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and The College of Certified Wound Specialists. He is also a diplomat of the American Academy of Wound Management. Dr. Sims has served as President of the Mid-Hudson Division of The New York State Podiatric Medical Association from 1977-1979, and 1981-1982. He has also served on numerous state committees including the peer review at the clinical conference.

After 47 years of caring for thousands of patients in the Hudson Valley, Dr. Lewis Sims retired from practicing medicine in 2020. He remains with the practice as a strategic advisor and mentor. An avid sports fan, Dr. Lewis Sims resides in the Town of Poughkeepsie with his wife of over 40 years and enjoys spending time with his family and teaching his grandchildren baseball and basketball.
